Summer break is almost over so we’re getting ready for another year of Kids Club to start back up. I am continuing to help at the baby orphanage every week. Nathan has been doing lots of work lately on the ywamperm.org website and ywam.ru so check those out.

Where has the summer gone?
July 23, 2007 by Sheree.
Even though it’s still July it sure doesn’t feel like it. It’s been cold and rainy the last week or so and our King’s Kids Camp is coming to a close. Our Russian teens that joined us have already gone home, and our Americans just have a couple days left before they go home. For our last week of camp, one team went east to Yekaterinburg and the team Nathan and I were on went north to some villages. Both teams did performing arts programs and many prayer walks. Our team went on a never-ending roller coaster ride of bumpy roads to get to our villages where we were being attacked by huge mutant bighting flies and mosquitos. For many of the villagers we were the entertainment of the year and they came to see us perform and talk with us afterwards. One lady was healed as our team went out on a prayer walk and one of the teens prayed for her, the group saw her crippled hand become normal and her crooked back become straight.

Another day in camp
July 11, 2007 by Sheree.
Our ministry times have been going well. We have different teams during the day going different places, and the evenings we come back together to do a program in the park. The forcast is for rain all week but it just got cloudy for a little bit last night and then got sunny again and we were able to do the program. Many college age guys were there smoking and drinking beer and yelling bad things at the group. We were still able to play basketball with them and build friendships. They were invited back along with all the little kids that were there. I was able to tell a little girl about God who had never heard of him before.

Kings Kids Camp
July 5, 2007 by Sheree.
We are in the middle of our first week of Kings Kids camp. A group of 29 (22 teenagers) from America has joined our group of 12 Russian teens and 5 staff for an awesome 3-week camp. This first week we are learning dances and dramas and learning how to share our testimonies of what God has done in our lives. Next week the teens will serve in orphanages, in villages, in a coffeehouse, in youth groups, and on the streets.
Last night we had an awesome time of worship, teaching, and prayer. The staff went around praying for kids that responded to the message. I (Sheree) got to pray with one of our Russian boys that has gone through many difficulties in his life and has wavered in his faith in God. God did something remarkable in his heart and many of the hurts from his past were healed.
God is doing something amazing in this group of teenagers and through them God will do something amazing in the lives of those they will minister to. It’s fun to be a part of it all.

The latest
February 9, 2007 by Sheree.
It’s a warm -6 F outside today. Another usual Friday. Nathan will go to his administration team meeting today and talk about fun and exciting administrative things. Sheree will meet for prayer and will go with her friend Tamara to the baby hospital. The babies have been sick and under quarantine this last week but they are slowly getting better. We get to feed them, play with them, change their diapers and clothes, and put them down for bed. Tonight Nathan and I will both come home and prepare for Kid’s Club tomorrow. Many of our kids from Kid’s Club come from dysfunctional famillies and they are basically like street kids. We constantly pray for wisdom in how to work with them and show God’s love to them. That’s our day today.

Happy Holidays
January 5, 2007 by Sheree.
Happy New Year everyone! I just got back from our Christmas program at the baby hospital. I think it went better this time than yesterday’s performance at the other baby orphanage. The kids seemed to enjoy it more and it looked like the staff did too. Again we gave each of the kids a teddy bear and each of the staff ladies a gift. After we packed everything up they invited us to have tea with them. The lady that sat with us said this was the first time they invited a group to have tea with them. We asked many questions about the kids and the workers there. At first she was very hesitant to talk about the group that was with us today but then she mentioned they were the HIV group. We said we already figured that and it was fine for us. I guess most people are kind of scared of them but we hugged them and played with them anyway. If a baby is born to an HIV mother it is automatically put with the HIV group until it is a year and a half. At that time it is re-tested and then either put with normal kids or they stay with the HIV group. Most were tiny so they may or may not have HIV but one boy was already 4 so he is infected. Afterwards I went throughout the hospital giving gifts to ladies that were not at the program. This week we gave 30 gifts to ladies. Tonight I go again to the hospital to feed the babies. Yesterday I went as well. We heard from one of the ladies that Dema, a baby boy, used to show no emotions at all much like a vegetable I guess you can say. Recently he has started to show more emotions and looks very different. I believe we will start to hear more and more good reports like this about all of the babies as we go and pray for them, touch them, feed them, and show God’s love to them.

Happy Holidays
December 1, 2006 by Sheree.
We celebrated Thanksgiving with a bunch of Americans here in Perm. We actually found a turkey and had all the fixings. Now it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. We got a Christmas tree for our apartment but so far it has nothing on it. We don’t have to dream of a white Christmas, we’re pretty sure we’ll have one :O) Today I had the best day ever at the baby hospital. The workers were actually nice to me and the babies. The babies were all in a good mood. I was able to feed many of them and change them for bed. I had many opportunities to touch them and pray for them and sing them songs. It was a good day.

Our New Apartment
November 14, 2006 by Sheree.
That last blog was actually written a few weeks ago but it accidentaly got saved as a draft instead of being published, sorry. Our new apartment is great. Thanks for your prayers. Our landlords are really nice too. You can see pictures on the “apartment tour” that’s on our website. Nathan is on his way back from Moscow now. He had a great time at a conference about orphans in eastern Europe. I’m here holding down the fort, visiting the baby hospital to feed and change babies, and doing Kid’s Club.

Home Sweet Home
November 14, 2006 by Sheree.
We now have a newly remodeled, 2 bedroom + living room apartment. Sheree has been helping at the baby hospital by feeding and changing sick babies. She has been having lots of fun doing this. Recently she came down with a cold, so to keep from giving all the babies her cold she was unable to go this week. We continue Kid’s Club and are preparing Christmas programs already for Kid’s Club and the baby orphanage.

A snowy day
October 19, 2006 by Sheree.
Snow is falling in Perm these days and it will just get colder and colder as the days go by. Nathan and I are practicing with a few others for a Christmas puppet show. We are also helping to fix up the baby orphanage and also plan on taking a petting zoo there for the toddlers. Sheree is getting medical tests done in order to be allowed to hold the babies and change them. At the baby orphanage that she will be visiting, there is one staff per 20 babies so a few extra hands to hold the babies is needed. We are still looking for an apartment.
